The IB Math SL students took the first two weeks of the school year to "explore" the EXPLORATION. A lot of learnings came out of the process and they have turned in some great research questions. Here are a couple of the ones they came up with:
Topic: Shooting sports
Question: How can the path of a bullet be modeled and explained with mathematics?
Topic: Global Warming
Question: How can weather patterns be described and explained
The German mathematician Leopold Kronecker (1823-1891) made important contributions in number theory and algebra. Several things are named after him, including formulae, symbols, and a theorem.
Please add an entry to answer the following question:
Can you explain through intuition how a sum of non-zero terms, which goes on and on forever , could actually be a finite number?
The following is our first student entry and he asked the following question:
"Out of all the mathematical skills you have learned at school until now, which do you think will be the most valuable for you in the future and why?"
Please add your thoughts and reply to his question. Tchau...MRK
What does a 21st century learner look like? What skills do they possess? What qualities do they need to strengthen? Look at the entries below to see what the IB Math SL students found.
